Science communication

Communicating in science is different in many ways to the forms of communication used in other subjects. There are broadly two forms of communication in science. Communicating with non-scientists uses methods of information transmission which involve explaining the results of scientific investigations to lay people and often, in these days of science denial and misinformation for political and economic reasons, also explains the methods used to try and help people understand and appreciate the importance of scientific endeavour. This Science Communication is becoming so important that it is now a career option and something that can be studied at university!
